why did the #1 spark plug on my Toy PU just pop out
Seriously, what makes this happen? l got stranded in the middle of the Y on
the southbound 5 and 405 at rush hour! (and special thanks to the good
samaritan in the blue toy PU who stopped and let me use his cell phone) l
put the plugs in myself and was very careful to tighten them.Did not have
a torque wrench (is this my sin?). but l really cranked them down.Does
vibration cause them to work free over time. Thanks in advance to all you
real gear heads for your advice on this stumper.
if the head is aluminum its a good chance you tightened the
sparkplug to much and it destroyed the threads, since there is compression
in the cylinder this would make it pop out.
If you really cranked them down you could have damaged the
threads in the cylinder head. the heads are usually a softer metal than
spark plugs. Since there is alot of pressure from the combustion at the
plug it will blow it out if the threads are damaged
